Question about Cloning Seagate Constellation ES & ES2 SED Drives with FIPS 140-2 Validation

Hello Community,

 

I was wondering if it was possible to clone Seagate Constellation ES & ES2 SED Drives with FIPS 140-2 Validation with a stand alone disk cloner? I'm assuming not but I was wondering if anyone has made this attempt or has any insight on this.... Or would the only possibllity be that you would have to boot up a server with both drives installed and use cloning software to perform the clone.... But then that leaves me with another question... Would the newly cloned drive work in another server with identical or similar hardware specs? I cannot seem to find details on the SED technology and how it can be used or not.

 

Please let me know your thoughts on this and thank you...
