Hello, our old server has RAID5 with 3 Maxtor Atlas 15K 36GB SCSI drives in it. Last week one drive died. I found another one on the net but having issues trying to replace it. It is the exact same drive and model but when I try to replace the bad drive it says the there is not enough space on the new drive. I looked at the stats and it is showing up as 34.7 GB while the two other drives show up as 35.0 GB. The only other thing I notice is the fireware version of these drives are different. The drives in the server are JNZH and the new drive I got is JNZ0. Would that be the problem? I need to get this server back up soon. I can not find any other drives out there with the same firmware level (if that is indeed the problem). Could I use a Maxtor Atlas 15K 73GB drive in it's place? Thanks!
