Did seatools kill my computer?

i was having problems with disk errors on my laptop, so i downloaded seatools for windows, ran a long dst on my drive (seagate momentus 7200.2 200GB) and it failed after the first 10% I heard that seatools dos could fix the error, so i downloaded seatools dos and gave it a try. but id didn't recognise the hdd controller on my laptop (gateway p7811fx) so i decided to put the hdd in my desktop and run seatools on it. It worked! 1 error found and fixed, but when i went to boot my desktop back up.... nothing. it gets to the point when you should see the bootloader come up, but nothing does, no disk read errors, not errors of any sort. I tried changing boot order, clearing cmos. the only thing i can boot are cds (like live cds). I out of ideas here. Help!??!??

Mortherbhoard: asus a8n-sli premium (nforce4) 1009 BIOS

hdds: 74GB raptor (one that should be booting) and 2 x 320 gb seagate 7200.9 in raid 1

Re: Did seatools kill my computer?

FIXED IT!!!!!!!!

Seatools must have altered my bootloader (GRUB) after reloading it, it boots!!!!

still don't know why i didn't get a non-system disk error..... oh well.

For anyone else using seatools with GRUB:

If it just doesn't boot (as described above) after running seatools dos. reload grub!!! :smileyvery-happy:

-just alittle exited!!!
