PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse not working in SeaTools for Dos

I was irritated that the SeaTools for Dos did not make it easy to create a bootable DOS disc on B: (I finally guesed to use a /b parameter when running the disc creation program). Once created, I booted to the Dos disc and SeaTools shows the legal Disclaimer screen but my mouse and keyboard do not work. Because I have an external keyboard/mouse/monitor sharing device, I plugged a new keyboard and mouse directly into the PC and rebooted but they still do not work. I know the keyboard works in Dos because Ctrl+Alt+Del quits the program in both cases.

1) How do I get the application to recognize my keyboard and mouse?

2) I run Windows XP Pro SP2 with all current updates. When i run the SeaTools for windows and attempt any actions (like basic disc test) the system crashes. I downloaded and reinstalled by this has had no effect. Could the problem be due to the controller used (it is not on my motherboard.)?

3) How do i get a copy of the old PowerMax or whatever tools that will run a diagnostics on my drives?

Thanks

Re: PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse not working in SeaTools for Dos

Same problem happened here. :smileysad:

v2.07 (Graphical)

ASUS M2A-VM motherboard.

I could not go beyond the license disclaimer neither with PS2 mouse and keyboard nor with USB mouse and PS2 keyboard.

This happens when using a .iso file burned at CD and also when the image is created on a floppy disk drive.

The text 1.10 version both mouse and keyboard were recognized and worked. :smileyindifferent:

Regards from Rio de Janeiro.  :smileywink:

Re: PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse not working in SeaTools for Dos

Am also having same problem and cannot use mouse or keyboard once at the License agreement Screen.  Using Win XP Pro SP3.  Have Gigabyte Motherboard GA-K8NXP-SLI cpu Athlon 64 3500.
For info mouse is wired but keyboard is Bluetooth and have used both with dos application before, so they do work in dos.

Re: PS/2 Keyboard and Mouse not working in SeaTools for Dos

This thread is 3 years old, and this issue still has not been fixed.  Using the latest version available of SeaTools for DOS on my laptop, the mouse and keyboard still do not respond in the program.

Does anyone at Seagate look at this forum?  Has anyone had direct response from Seagate as to a resolution of this issue?
