Passed after Repair

Hi,

When booting my laptop (XP) it gets to an error occurred try the following options, last Know good config, safe mode, safe mode with command etc etc
If I salve the HD into another machine using a USB connection I don't get anything. It doesn't appear in Device manager or My computer as another drive.

Have just D/L SeaTools.

Tried to run "SHORT Test" it returned problems after about 10 seconds & I should run a "LONG Test"
So I ran a "LONG Test" and it returned problems with the HD.
I chose to fix these problems & it repaired them successfully.
I tried to run a "SHORT Test" again & got the same message about errors on the disc.
SO I ran a "LONG Test" again - same issues again which it said it had repaired them.
The only difference being the LBA's
e.g
1st time i ran "LONG Test" it found problems on LBA 252580 > 1613229
2nd time i ran "LONG Test" it found problems on LBA 252619 > 1615782
3rd time i ran "LONG Test" it found problems on LBA 304628 > 1644208
4th time i ran "LONG Test" it found problems on LBA 504010 > 1677765
5th time i ran "LONG Test" it found problems on LBA 304627 > 383684

It only ever ran the "LONG Test"  for approx 10 mins

AM I flogging a DEAD HD here or can somebody point me in the right direction

Thanks

[ Edited ]
thans for the reply sorry for the delay in responding.
I have since checked the warranty which it is now out of. SOOO I have wrapped the HD in a piece of kitchen roll placed inside a freezer bag, sealed the bag & placed the HD in the freezer overnight. When I connected it the next morning I was able to recover some data of the drive - not all the data but some is better than nothing. SO if your HD is out of warranty, you've really nothing to lose..

Thanks again
