can i trust this drive?

[ Edited ]

hi this my 1st post here hope some1 can help or give me some advice

ok long story short been running 4 drive raid 0 for quite while. started having problems so i used Hard Disk Sentinel to check smart etc

there where 2 drives with few weak sectors classed as current pending sectors.

ok drive 1  as i was backing up according to Hard Disk Sentinel current pending sectors went up and down a bit with a few crashes too but lowest was 33 and went as high 446. there also a health percentage that red 52%

so after back up i thought see if it under warranty and use seatools to get test code. so i used seatools dos ran short test failed it, tried long test failed and had a test code 6C9AC2A4. after this i used seatools for windows and ran a full erase (sata)

to my surprise i checked the smart attributes in Hard Disk Sentinel and all was back to normal and health rated at 100%

the big question can i trust this drive in my new built raid 5?

ok drive 2  which i thought was the better drive as it had lower weak and pending sectors max of 100. same thing happened pending sectors went up and down a little

after backup i used seatools for dos ran short test it and it passed so ran the long test and after a hour or so seatools crashed to the dos prompt. so i used seatools for windows did full erase (sata) it passed then tried seatools for dos long test it crashed again

so my last attempt was running seatools for windows full erase (sata) again it passed, then i ran the long generic test it failed and gave me test code 6C9AC2A4

for both drives the seagate website says the warranty runs out Dec 19th 2012

the one prob i have got is that these drives are Samsung but the Samsung site sends me too seagate site but it says there under warranty so thats good the prob is that the fix all option is missing from seatools for windows as they are samsung drives i guess

ok too sum up

1. can i trust 1st drive

2. is it time send 2nd drive back

sorry for long message just thought id put as much info as i could

would love any advice thanks in advance trev
