First, I must say after reading this forum, I'm so scared! This subject "Can't create cloud storage account" apparently started over a year ago, but the problem still hasn't been fixed! I've just purchased a 4TB Central and I'm having exactly the same problem all your other cutomers had or are still having! Unbelievable! I've tried using the link you had sent out to others with my Central's serial number appended to the end and I've even tried it in Chrome and IE. I'm getting the same error as other customers. Please help me create a cloud access account.

I also have this problem and have search all KB articles and forums. I have come to the conclusion that cloud access is not availble as an offering on the Central product. When I append my serial number to the URL it comes back with invalid product.
Please also be aware that the 5 seat licence for remote access also expires after 3 years.
This is not what I expected. I am disappointed with Seagate

Step #6 should show the personalize screen, where your remote access account was created when you set up your device. You should have received an email from Tappin to activate your remote access account and create a password. Please check your email spam if you did not receive this email. If you did activate your remote access account, try logging in to Access.Seagate.com.

You see to have misunderstood.
I have registered and activated my global access account (via the email) and can remotely access the box.
The Seagate dashboard also offers cloud storage, which is a different storage medium, and there seems to be NO way of activating that account. But perhaps that is not an offering for Seagate Central Customers. Please check.
Also the most important issue is that the remote access licences have a lifetime limited to 3 years, this was not explained in the advertising literature, and means that after 3 years I will have to pay Tappin an annual subscription. I feel that I have been misled.
Please explain as obmission of such information is against UK trading standards regulations.
Please explain How I contact support in UK as I have no wish to make international calls which are not toll free.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience.
Seagate Dashboard for Central actually doesn't have an offer associated with it for free cloud storage. May I know whether you saw that written somewhere?
As far as the 3 year contract with Remote Access through Tappin, that is Seagate's current contract. After 3 years, it is likely, although not guaranteed, that service will continue in some capacity.

To be fair I only saw reference to cloud after I installed the recommend Seagate Dashboard Software. See attached screenshots. Would be usefull if that sw stated only available for certain qualifying products. A lot of people have been frustrated and wasted time trying to set it up.
I am not at all happy that "it is likely, although not guaranteed" on the remote access. I do not want to find out in 3 years that I will loose a facility which I guenuinely believed was included with the product 'for life'.
Can you assure me that I personally will not have to pay after 3 years, or loose the service, wether on not Seagate stays with Tappin or not?
Have I really paid for a 'time limited' product?
An interesting discussion will need to take place to see if this complies with UK Retail Law.
