Online Warranty Check Broken

[ Edited ]

I'm not sure where to post this or who I can contact but...

I've tried checking 4 different Seagate drives in the online warranty check and all of them say invalid warranty. I've tried it in Firefox 3.5, IE8, and Google Chrome.

Now this is impossible because these very same drives had no problem when I first bought each one respectively (I always check when I buy hd). Please pass it on to whoever is responsible for the tool as I'm sure it's causing extra stress for others.

Thank you

Re: Online Warranty Check Broken

I've gotten no other indication that it is broken.

Could you please try, in order:

1) make sure you're using, say, IE7 or IE8 or Firefox, (then try again and if it doesn't work, then continue...)

2) restart your browser, (then try again and if it doesn't work, then continue...)

3) reboot your computer, (then try again and if it doesn't work, then continue...)

4) clearing your browser's cache and cookies, (then try again and if it doesn't work, then continue...)

5) try on a different computer, (then try again and if it doesn't work, then continue...)

6) let me know that it's still not working for you.

Re: Online Warranty Check Broken

I also found that the online RMA was broken - if I was trying to return a single drive as a regular user.

If I go through the "return multiple products" (or be an OEM ystem builder) part of the website, there's a functional button there to actually get the RMA number and address and all that.

It did take me about 30 minutes of cursing before I tried the door I'm not obviously meant to go through.

I'm using a fully patched version of Internet Explorer 8 on Windows 7 x64.

Re: Online Warranty Check Broken

PLEASE can Seagate fix this and also the fact that if you do a lIve Chat, the Window is set to fixed size and you can't see all the fields you're supposed to fill in.

Come on Seagate, these are really simple errors that should be fixed within hours, not years!!

This is not helping relations with your Partners, especially when we keep reporting it and absolutely nothing gets done

Did you take a look at the above solution?
